Supplemental Education Services (SES)
The Literacy Through Sports Foundation specializes in providing high quality Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to students in grades K-8. We service students that attend eligible schools through the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). This free program provides tutoring in reading and language arts and identifies each child’s strengths and weaknesses. Our program is structured for student success. A key component of our program is the goal setting conference which allows all parties: parents, and school personnel to review the schools results from the FCAT, DIBELS, and other school information and an analysis of a diagnostic pretest if needed. With this information, we develop a Student Learning Plan with specific goals and individualized curriculum for the student. All of the program’s tutors are highly trained, certified teachers who believe in the value of a quality education. We believe that every child has the ability to learn. Through our assessments, parent involvement and state certified curriculum our program closes the learning gaps and instills the confidence that every child needs to succeed!
Our tutoring program has received the highest rating of EXCELLENT issued by the Florida Department of Education.
